All of our movies are Movies You Can Trust. So why have a parent guide? Your family probably has kids that are different ages with different needs and interests. For example, even good, clean movies may have scenes that are too frightening for younger children, but are of no concern to older kids.
Some movies tastefully and cleanly present mature subjects in day-to-day life, but they may not be right for young children. To help parents choose which movies are age-appropriate, we’ve included some helpful terms, where needed, with our movie descriptions.
Unfortunately, in popular culture, phrases like “mature content” and “adult subject matter” often refer to movies with graphic sex or violence. But on our Cleanflicks site, where all trusted titles are carefully screened to avoid such content, similar terms may be useful to talk about mature but tastefully presented subject matter. Even in clean movies, we believe it’s important for parents to have information so they can choose what’s right for their kids.
